Still Woozy | Atlanta

August 23, 2024

Live from Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, GA, Still Woozy is in full swing of his Loveseat world tour. Sven Gamsky, professionally known as Still Woozy, is a California native who has made his way for his infectious tracks and heartfelt lyrics. Accompanied by pop group MICHELLE, this show was one to remember.

The six-piece indie-pop collective (comprised of Sofia D’Angelo [vocals/guitar], Julian Kaufman [keys], Charlie Kilgore [bass], Layla Ku [vocals], Emma Lee [vocals], and Jamee Lockard [vocals]) brought an incredible combination of funky dance moves and harmonies to the stage. Enticing the crowd with popular tracks like, “Sunrise,” “Pulse” and “Syncopate,” it’s evident that this collective knows how to have fun.

After their set, the buzz for Still Woozy was palpable. Cartoon-like flowers are set upon the stage, as well as other set decorations and the audience can’t contain their excitement. The lights drop and fans are cheering as the guitar intro to Woozy’s second album Again rings out. Jumping and bouncing around stage, pumping his fist, and waving to the crowd, Still Woozy is on the stage and giving the crowd exactly what they’ve been waiting for. With lyrics like, “This can't be happening / I must be daydreaming / Again, again!” You can hear Still Woozy fans sing back every word and cheer throughout each moment.

“Window,” an infamous single released in 2020, has the crowd cheering and screaming back the lyrics. Performances of “Get By,” “All Your Life,” and “S**t Don’t Change,” has the energy in the venue at its peak. Ears are ringing and hands are in the air as each song progresses and weaves into the next. Accompanied by his acoustic guitar, Woozy’s no stranger to being a performer. Sitting at the piano, Woozy begins playing “Baby,” the 10th track on his Loveseat album. As fans are chanting and clapping back to the love song, Woozy switches up the vibe and performs “Lemon,” a popular track from his latest album.

With performances of “Lucy,” a 2018 classic that still hits, you can tell that Still Woozy has spent time crafting this setlist to cater to his fans. “Forwards,” “That’s Life,” and “Rocky,” follow, each song bringing a different set of cheers to the room. The show continues with some notable mentions like, “Anyone But You,” Cooks,” and “Run It Back.” Woozy finds himself in the crowd during his “Run It Back” performance; with hands in the air and screams all around, Woozy makes his way back on stage to show his appreciation for those at his show and who’ve supported his music.

The show winds down with “Shotput,” “Habit,” and “WTF.” Fans are screaming for an encore. Not more than 90 seconds later, the lights are swirling and the lyrics, “Oh, what they think about you,” are ringing out through the Roxy venue. The crowd pushes in closer for the final song of the show, “Goodie Bag,” notably Woozy’s most famous song. Released in 2017, “Goodie Bag” has everyone singing along and trying to harmonize with one another.

His next performance is in Phoenix, AZ on September 29th at the Marquee Theatre. With Gus Dapperton and PawPaw Rod, it’s a show you won’t want to miss!
