Priscilla Block Brings Confidence and Country-Pop to the Anaheim House of Blues
Priscilla Block’s Things You Didn’t See Tour made its fourth stop last week at the Anaheim House of Blues with a set that felt bold, personal and unapologetically fun.
Opener Clayton Miller set the tone early in the night as he joyfully took the stage and immediately pulled the crowd in. Over the course of his 40-minute set, he proved himself not just as a musician, but as a natural performer. Miller mixed unreleased material like “Love Me Right” with older fan favorites like “Texas for Me.” Between tossing guitar picks to audience members to bringing a fan’s phone on stage, Miller stayed completely engaged throughout the duration of his set. As his band closed things out, Miller stayed behind to sign merchandise and later meet fans at the merch stand, a small but meaningful gesture. By the time Priscilla Block stepped onto the stage, the crowd was more than ready for her.
Block opened her set with a bold stage presence, a confident walk to center stage and a stomp that said she meant business. From the beginning, Block balanced her star power with relatability performing to a room that included young girls up front, wide-eyed and singing along. Throughout the night, Block took intentional pauses between songs to share personal moments, grounding the show in honesty and vulnerability.
One of the night’s standout moments came when Block leaned into her ability to blur genre lines. Sitting down, she spoke about the growth of country music and the influx of new fans before launching into a country-pop mashup — reimagining pop hits like Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” and Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True.”
By the time her beloved “Yard Sale Anthem” came around, the crowd was fully on their feet. In true Priscilla fashion, she had one last surprise up her sleeve, joking that every good yard sale needs some merch before tossing signed items into the crowd. By the final note, it was clear that this stop on the Things You Didn’t See Tour wasn’t just another show date but a reminder of why Block continues to stand out in the country scene.
