Inspired by 50’s vibes and good feelings, Kid Bloom has broken into the music industry with his smooth riffs and chill beats. Kid Bloom extended from a childhood superhero character drawn in a notebook to become one of the fastest growing artists in the decade. His new single, “Hold In, Hold On,” is a way for him to connect with his fans despite the state of the world we’re in. Check out our exclusive interview with him below!

Tell us where your artist name Kid Bloom came from and what inspired it?

Kid Bloom: “It was the first thing I came up with that I didn't hate. I came up with it in high school. I would draw a superhero character on my notebook that I called Kid Bloom.”

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to? Rock, indie, rap, etc.?

KB: “All types of music. Lately my favorite has been stuff from the 40's and 50's.”

Tell us about your new single “Hold In, Hold On!” What inspired it and why did you write it?

KB: “The song came into existence naturally. I've always wanted to write a song like this. When I finished writing it, I felt uncertain about releasing it, but at the same time it felt necessary and right.”

Regarding your new single, what is the sort of overall message you’re wanting fans to hear?

KB: “As cheesy as it may sound, I want this song to make people smile and be a form of conductivity in these strange and trying times.”

Your new visualizer “In One Ear” was a marvelous and fun spin for the track. What was your inspiration behind just having fun in the video?

KB: “My manager Summer dreamt of this video one night and then called me the next morning to tell me about it. I was like, ‘Hell yeah. That should be the video.’”

Where did your passion for music start?

KB: “With my dad. My dad made me start taking up the guitar and introduced me to all of his favorite music. He has amazing taste.”

KB: “I consider myself an aspiring Michelin star chef.”

In what ways are you adapting to the pandemic situation at hand?

KB: “Learning how to be at peace with myself and then letting go of certain things and letting myself operate, I guess is something I'm learning. Shutting off the doubt.”

Do you have any dreams for where you’ll be in the next year?

KB: “Yes I do. Hopefully touring!”
